january 2015

Adam and I arrived back to London on the 3rd of January, and felt very jet lagged after several weeks in the US. We agreed to take it easy for a while, for the sakes of our wallets and our health. So overall January was a pretty low key month.

Our first Sunday back, we met up with Ali & Paul for a lunch date, which then turned into a little bar crawl around our neighborhood. We were excited to see our friends, and enjoyed a good catch up with lunch at The Blue Legume, drinks at 69 Colebrooke Row, and dinner at Masala Zone.

What's the best thing about January in London, you ask? Well not a whole lot if I'm being completely honest. It's dark and dreary and damn cold. BUT my favorite thing is our weekly girls night to watch The Bachelor. I NEVER watched in the US, but now it is the perfect excuse to get together with the ex-pat girls and drink wine and laugh at the crazy girls on the show. (We are at least a week behind though, so no spilling!)

The second weekend in January, we got together for a girl's night out at Casa Negra and the Playroom in Shoreditch. The food was really good and we had a great time dancing and singing and just being silly…it actually made me forget how cold and miserable it is outside!

The next day, Ads and I went to The Orange pub in Pimlico for our friend's leaving lunch. Their little family is moving to Nigeria and we will miss them! After our delicious Sunday roast, we went across the street to William Curley. This beautiful little dessert bar has some of the most amazing chocolates in London!

The following weekend was pay day (finally!) so we were ready to really get out there and do some proper eating. On Friday night, the work team went out for dinner in Chelsea at The Big Easy and drinks afterwards at The Goat and The King's Arms.

On Saturday, Adam and I met some friends for lunch at Dishoom in Shoreditch. We had an amazing Indian meal and I can't wait to go back again!

That night we had dinner at the new Bibigo in Angel. The food was really nice but our service was just... average. Anyways, it was fun trying some traditional Korean food! For dessert, we ordered a 'fish' that was served with red bean ice cream. It was a little weird, but good.

I'm happy to see January finished…it's always the hardest month to get through here in London! I am very much looking forward to the rest of February, especially my trip this week to Copenhagen!
