Christmas in London (and it's not even Thanksgiving yet!)

Christmas is only 4 weeks, but here in London the lights and celebrations started weeks ago. Everyone is in full blown Christmas mode. This is my third Christmas here in London, so I knew what to expect. I started seeing decorations for sale in mid-October, lights up by Halloween (I know my fellow Americans will find this disgraceful…it's not even Thanksgiving yet!). The honest truth though is that London is incredibly beautiful with all the lights up. It truly becomes a winter wonderland. So I guess I don't mind the lights too much.

The last couple of weeks have been filled with all sorts of Christmas-y goodness, including Sunday roasts, seeing lights, and fun with friends. Adam and I joined a big group of friends for a Sunday roast at The Old Red Cow in Barbican, complete with suckling pig.
I had the duty of carving this little baby up, as no one else in our huge group of people was brave enough to do it. I'm sorry but if I am faced with a challenge and the outcome is I don't get to eat, I'm going to take that challenge. Carving up this little guy pretty much ruined eating it but luckily we had some yummy leg of lamb too. I would highly recommend The Old Red Cow for Sunday lunch, though. The roast potatoes were the best I've ever had!

The work week was super busy. One morning I was getting ready and Ads was still in bed. All the sudden I heard him say 'look at the sunrise'. It was so gorgeous I had to snap a picture from my window.

Last weekend, I was able to try two restaurants I've been wanting to try for a very long time. On Friday night, Adam and I had a date night at Almeida. The food was absolutely divine, and it's right around the corner from our flat. We will definitely be visiting again!

On Sunday we decided to venture out of our neighborhood. We went to Soho and enjoyed Carnaby Street, an amazing meal at Pitt Cue Co, a Ben's cookie (obviously), a bit of shopping and some beautiful Christmas lights. All in all, it was a wonderful Sunday in Soho!

Wishing all my family and friends back home a wonderful Thanksgiving week. I wish I could be there to celebrate but looking forward to being home in exactly 3 weeks! x
