Christmas {and New Year's} in NC // Part 1

I arrived back to London just last Saturday after spending THREE whole weeks in beautiful North Carolina. (So, I'm sorry I fell off the grid but I was really enjoying my time with family and friends.) I'm back now and very excited to share some of my favorite pictures from the 3 weeks in Charlotte, Asheville and Raleigh, N.C.

This trip was made even more special thanks to my boyfriend, Adam, who came to Charlotte and spent 2 weeks with my family and friends. It was the first time we got to spend Christmas day together and it was really wonderful to have him there with my family!

I got to indulge in my favorite foods (mainly Chick-fil-a, Cantina 1511, and all the biscuits you could possibly imagine). I drank wine with my best friends (the ones who aren't pregnant!) and my family. We laughed, and talked, and caught up on a whole years worth of news and gossip. As I sit here now typing this, I'm getting a little lump in my throat because honestly, the 3 weeks was just so damn perfect. And lucky for you, I have the pictures to prove how wonderfully fun it was!

Week 1: I got back to Charlotte on Saturday evening and was greeted at the airport by my mom and dad, sisters, and niece and nephew! Talk about feeling seriously loved. We went straight to Chick-fil-a so I could get my fix after a year of no waffle fries!

On Sunday, we celebrated my niece's 13th birthday with my family. It was so great to see everyone and chat, but especially to celebrate my niece who is genuinely the sweetest young lady you've ever met.

On Monday, Mom and I had a girl's day - we did all our Christmas shopping, had a wonderful lunch, and got our nails done. It was perfect and I was completely exhausted by the end of the day!

My family all had to head back to work, so I spent the rest of the week visiting with my friends. April and I did lunch on Tuesday at my favorite Mexican place in Charlotte, Cantina 1511.

I spent all day with my friend Megan from high school and was able to meet her beautiful newborn baby. On Thursday, I went to dinner at Mezzenotte with April and Brittany and we laughed so hard we cried. Everyone in the restaurant must have thought we were crazy!

On Friday, I went to my grandparent's house and spent the morning with them then I went to see my very pregnant friend, Katie (who actually had her baby just after Christmas!).

On Saturday I was reunited with my friend Lauren who lives in NYC (you've seen her face on here before). We did a little Christmas shopping, had a glass of wine at Rooster's, and then went to VBGB for my friend Alex & James' party. (You can read about their ex-pat life and travels here.) After we left their party, we had a fantastic dinner at Dandelion Market and then went to the Ritz for a drink and a little dancing. It was such a fun night!

Week 2: On Sunday I worked at the Nutcracker with my mom and her best friend, Lynn. Lynn is a photographer and takes pictures each year of little girls (and boys!) with the Sugar Plum Fairy. It's so cute and I got my kid-fix while I was there. I left a little early to go pick up Adam from the airport and the first thing he wanted?! Cheesecake Factory (HA!). So we went straight there and straight back home to bed as we were both exhausted from very busy days.

My mom has taken the whole week off and my nephew was staying with us for the first couple of days. My nephew, Joshua, was SO unbelievably excited to meet Adam. It was adorable! So we spent all day hanging out with him. We played a 2 day game of Monopoly, watched lots of movies, and Josh tackled Adam at every opportunity.

Adam and I met up with my best friend from college and her husband before heading to the Charlotte Hornets NBA game with my cousin, Emily. It was a really fun night with Kendyl, Brendan and Emily!

I'll be back with Part 2 of Christmas & New Years in North Carolina soon!

xx
