cambridge

Over the summer holidays, I took a little day trip up to Cambridge with my travel buddy, Courtney. We left London at Liverpool Street Station and an hour and 15 minutes later, we were in beautiful Cambridge. It's so nice to get outside of London and see other parts of England because it is a truly gorgeous country.

strolling around cambridge
We started off with a little walk around Cambridge and got our bearings. Then we made our way over to The Cambridge Chop House for a delicious 3-course lunch and some wine! We were set after that….ready for a little walk through the campus of Cambridge University and a stroll through the park. We were harassed by all the people trying to get us to do punting for £20 each, and we decided to see if we could talk them down on the price. We were very proud of ourselves when we said 'how about for £12?' and the guy said no problem! So it was off to punt we went. We were on our boat with about 8 other people, and our tour guide Kit was hilarious. He was full of it…I didn't believe a word he said. So I can't really share any interesting facts with you about Cambridge because everything he said was made up. I am so gullible that I believed a good bit of it, until the end when he said 'don't believe anything I've just told you!'.

punting
After our punting trip, we walked around and found Cambridge Wine Merchants and decided to hang out there for a couple hours. We shared a bottle of wine and enjoyed the people watching. It was very crowded on the day we went, so it was nice to sit inside and watch all the people in their Cambridge Uni sweatshirts.

After our wine (and snacks of course!), we went to the train station and made our way back to the hustle of London.
