christmas cheer

This past week in London was completely manic for me. Not only was I sick for 2 weeks, I had an observation/inspection at my school the first three days of last week and a field trip on Thursday! It was very busy so when Friday came around, I was a happy girl! By the end of the week I was finally feeling better - the tummy bug that seemed to affect everyone at my school moved on and my cough slowly dissipated. 

On Friday night, me and my work girls all went out for dinner and drinks in Chelsea to a few of our favorite places. We started with drinks at the Big Easy (our usual Friday spot), then to Azteca (a mexican restaurant with amazing cocktails), and off to Busaba Eathai for dinner. After dinner, we made our way to Shepherd's Bush to go to a Christmas party. The only two guys who work with us are both on an Australian football team here in London and they hosted a party at Belushi's (one classy joint, let me tell you!) We had a great time dancing and unwinding from the week!

During the day on Saturday I was lazy and enjoyed a little online Christmas shopping and catching up on TV. Adam and I went out for lunch in West Hampstead to a place called Schnitzel (very good!) and then went to the Christmas market at the green. There was a woman there selling delicious desserts and Adam and I couldn't resist buying one of her HUGE cookies.

Saturday night, Adam and I met our friends Allison, Warren, Alexandra, and James at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square. I've been dying to go to this cinema for months because they do sing-a-longs and quote-a-longs for some of the movies they show. Well earlier this week I noticed that they were showing 'ELF' (my all time favorite Christmas movie) at the theatre and that it was going to be a quote-a-long! It was so much fun to watch it on the big screen with hundreds of other people quoting along to all the lines that I love! Everyone was cracking up at each other's abilities to know so many of the lines. Alexandra and I were especially good :) After the movie we went to one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to in London. I went there earlier in the year for a friend's birthday and suggested it again last night; I'm glad I did! The food is so good. Anyways, it's called Cantina Loredo and it's right around the corner from Leicester Square station.

I'm taking it easy today and finishing up some Christmas shopping later. I can't believe that I'll be on my way back to Charlotte in just 1 week! :) I can't wait!
