sunshine and running

Hi everyone! Yesterday was a warm and sunny day here in London and it's amazing what a little sunshine can do for your attitude. It was warmer here than it was in Charlotte (don't mean to rub it in!) :)
I've been very busy with work and school. I am still loving my teaching job. I feel very blessed to work at two great schools. Today, I am starting an afterschool club at one of the schools I teach at. It's going to be a once a week running group for girls! I am very excited to get started and so is the school and the young girls. I will use the club as a research project for one of my classes I am taking but I am also just looking forward to getting to spend time with a small group of girls.

This past weekend, I went to visit my friend Andrea and her husband James in St. Albans and Berkhamstead. They are lucky to live in the country! Its so beautiful there. We went on a "country walk" and had breakfast at a pub. It was nice to get out of the city for a night!

I am getting very excited to have my first visitor from NC come in a couple weeks! Whitley will be here in London for 5 days and then we'll go to Cinque Terre in Italy! It's going to be an amazing trip. I haven't been able to do as much traveling as I would like because I've been so busy but hopefully that will change soon!

I am missing home everyday! Sending lots of love to my family and friends xo

Half term break

Good afternoon from London! I have had this past week off thanks to half term breaks in the UK. Mostly I worked on a big paper that's due in less than two weeks but I got to have a little fun too! On Wednesday, I went to the Museum of London with my friend Elaine. I've been before but this time I went to see an interesting exhibit on this group of guys who used to steal bodies from graves and sell them to doctors. So weird!! here are some pictures from my touristy day :)

England versus Brazil

I had an amazing time at Wembley stadium watching England versus Brazil! I really enjoyed the experience and I hope I'll get to do it again soon!

Football time

While all my fellow Americans watched the Super Bowl this week, I'll be watching the England football (aka soccer) team play against Brazil. The game is tonight and I'm very excited for my first European football experience! I hear that the fans go crazy over their teams! I'll try to capture some good pictures so I can share them soon!

Much deserved fun

After a very busy week, I enjoyed a fun night out with friends last night! We went to a place called O2 Academy, which is known for playing everyone's favorite songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s. There were lots of people there in "fancy dress" (costumes). We didn't dress up but next time I will!
